Here is one of the projects I worked on for Rubens class, and its my personal take on the distant relatives of the Addams Family. I wanted to contrast the original Addams dead personality with a saturated and warm feeling. It feels like for every one step forward I take 3 steps back in terms of this semester overall :/ BUT Im going to make revisions as I go along with posting what else I have done this semester.

I learned a whole bunch this semester but still feel as if I didn't quite improve as much as I wanted to. So I may see Courtney again in the Fall for round 2 of Viz Dev. I really feel his class does a good job of exposing the flaws and weaknesses in my drawing ability, so it looks like I got quite a summer ahead of me.

Wondercon was really sweet, I pretty much went to this con with the sole intention of "limitation" and "fortitude" in mind despite all the awesome art and books that my friends and exhibitors were throwing in my face. Now what became as an exercise in restraint, also led to new found discoveries. So instead of exchanging currency for goods I expressed interest with the utmost candor for many artists I was interested in. This for one helped me get over talking to these artist's, from which I usually have my foot in my mouth, and made me realize how they "sometimes" want to just have someone who understands them in an engaged conversation. And after all its said and done my patience was rewarded when I won a raffle at a Disney lecture, winning a autographed copy of Princess and the Frog and a little sketch from Eric Goldberg.

This here is for my beginning painting class, working and having some fun with those oils. I wish I could have this mindset when Im working on my tidepool. Im so hesitant with it, and even Jeff said Im staying in the lines too much. I mean there are a bunch of things wrong with this painting but I really didn't care and just slapped paint on there, maybe I could turn this in to Nelson, he won't be able to tell the difference...PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

Well I finally caved in and started a blog, I don't know who wants to look at this stuff, but Im mainly doing it for piece of mind. I want to be able to look back at my past shortcomings in my work and possibly to use this as a measurement of distance of how far I have come, since Im always striving to better myself.
